Hi gang, Let's just deal with the movie first. I’m so glad so many of you around the world have enjoyed it so much. It hopefully means there will be more to come! You'll be the first to know, I promise! This is a book newsletter of course, and we'll all be aware of some of the 'differences' between the film and the first book (see the title of this newsletter 😂) so I thought you'd especially like an exclusive peek at a section of the film which Chris Columbus had to cut, starring the wonderful Joseph Marcell as Father Mackie. This will also be appearing on Netflix soon, but you're seeing it first! | | |

Who are you looking forward to hearing from most? I think it's an absolute cracker, and can't wait for you all to read it! While we're all waiting, I was quizzed by the lovely people at Penguin during my latest visit to their studios. They handed me four ping pong paddles, then asked which Thursday Murder Club characters would shine in various different roles. Watch the video below and see if you agree with my choices… |
I also wanted to say a huge thank you to all of the fantastic independent bookshops who show me endless support and love. I’ve been told they’ve been busy this week with lots of Thursday Murder Club requests, and they even have a fantastic special edition of The Impossible Fortune that you can see below. |
Take a look at the fancy map they built too, it’ll help find your nearest independent bookshop. Be sure to give them a visit. Your pal, Richard
